Teachers discuss what each student wants to achieve and incorporate those goals into the lesson plan. Everyone has a different aim: learning to play a favorite piece of music, communicating confidently in a foreign language, or passing a challenging math exam.

Our lessons take place online with a teacher in real time. You talk with your teacher, ask questions, complete tasks, and receive explanations and advice right away. This allows you to study with a teacher even if you are thousands of miles from the school.

Montessori Center offers online lessons in painting, modeling and sculpture, animation, computer graphics, sewing, and foreign languages: English, German, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, and Japanese. You can also study piano, singing, classical guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, drums, flute, recorder, violin, saxophone, and cello. Other options include ballet, modern dance, yoga, speech therapy, school preparation, and school subjects, including math, algebra, geometry, physics, and chemistry.

Painting

Our painting course is designed for children aged 5 and older and adults of all ages. Lessons are taught by practicing artists who support each student in both private and group lessons. In small groups of 4–5, students get to know one another, talk, follow each other’s work, and discuss it with the teacher.

Private lessons offer more time to explore different techniques, from drawing to oil and watercolor painting. Children and adults learn to create still lifes, landscapes, portraits, colorful anime artwork, and pictures of their favorite characters.

Computer Graphics

In our computer graphics course, students create digital illustrations and invent their own anime and fantasy characters. You will need a tablet with a compatible stylus or a graphics tablet for use with a computer. Before starting, check which device and software are suitable for the lessons. For those who want to bring their characters to life and create a short animated film, we offer a separate online animation course.

Modeling and Sculpture

Our modeling and sculpture course is suitable for children and adults. Beginners explore materials and basic modeling techniques, while experienced students can deepen their knowledge and work on more complex sculptures. The teacher chooses tasks to suit each student’s age and experience, explaining how to capture form, maintain proportions, and refine details. No experience is needed to begin—just an interest in trying modeling.

Sewing

Our sewing course takes place on Zoom or Google Meet. Children and adults learn to make clothing, toys, and accessories. Together with your teacher, you can choose something you would enjoy making. Beginners start with hand stitches and later move on to using a sewing machine. Your teacher will let you know in advance which fabrics and tools you will need.

Piano

Our piano course was developed by our curriculum specialists with students’ ages and the difficulty of the repertoire in mind. It is designed for children aged 5 and older and adults of all ages. Lessons are private. Our teachers are pianists who share their performance experience with students. If you are starting from scratch, your first lessons will introduce you to reading music, hand position, and simple melodies. You will need a piano or keyboard for lessons and home practice.

Singing

Our singing course is designed for students aged 5–6, 7–12, and 13–16, as well as adults. Online lessons are private. You will learn your favorite songs and work on breathing, pitch, and vocal tone. You can start with a trial lesson to meet your teacher, try vocal exercises, and choose a song to work on.

Classical Guitar

Our classical guitar course consists of private lessons. The school also offers electric guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele lessons. We match students with a teacher and program for their chosen instrument. In classical guitar lessons, children and adults learn hand position, tone production, and their first melodies. They gradually add chords, new playing techniques, and more challenging pieces.

Flute

Our flute course is designed for students aged 9 and older. Lessons are taught by teachers with performance experience. For preschool children, we offer recorder lessons—a small wind instrument that can provide an introduction to music. Students generally begin learning the transverse flute at around 9–10. The teacher will help you choose an instrument and explain how to hold it, manage your breathing, and play your first melodies.

Violin

Our violin course takes the student’s age and the difficulty of the repertoire into account. Online lessons are private. In the first lessons, the teacher demonstrates how to hold the violin and bow, place the fingers, and produce a sound. Students gradually apply these skills in exercises and short pieces. For those who prefer the cello, we offer a separate online course with experienced cello teachers.

Drums

Our drum lessons are private. You will need an acoustic or electronic drum kit for home practice, although a practice pad and drumsticks can be used for the first exercises. Students learn note values, practise keeping a steady tempo, and play rhythmic patterns. As their skills develop, they begin playing along with backing tracks and learning their favorite songs.

Saxophone

Our saxophone course is designed for children aged 9 and older and adults. No previous musical training is required: your teacher will select exercises and pieces suited to your level. In the first lessons, you will work on tone, learn individual notes, and then move on to melodies. Between lessons, the teacher recommends reviewing what you have learned at home. You will need your own or a rented saxophone.

English

Our English course is for children aged 5 and older and adults. Lessons are private or held in small groups of 2–3 students of the same age and proficiency level. In the first lesson, the teacher assesses the student’s knowledge and discusses their learning goals. Parents join this conversation when the student is a child. The school provides learning materials. The teacher adapts the program to specific goals, such as preparing for an embassy interview, a school exam, or communication in a new job abroad.

Russian

Our Russian course is designed for students aged 5 and older, including those learning Russian as a foreign language. If a child was born or is growing up in another country, lessons can help them maintain the language they use with family, expand their vocabulary, and learn to read and write. The teacher assigns homework for practice between lessons.

Ukrainian

Our Ukrainian course is taught by native speakers with university degrees in philology and teaching experience. Our teachers work with children and adults, choosing textbooks and tasks to suit each student’s level. Lessons cover language rules, conversation practice, and Ukrainian culture and traditions.

Spanish

Our Spanish course is designed for children aged 5 and older and adults of all ages. Our students include residents of the United States and other countries. Lessons take place on Zoom or Google Meet, with explanations available in Russian, Ukrainian, or English. Private lessons suit students with different levels of experience. Textbooks and materials are chosen according to your goals: starting from scratch, getting more conversation practice, understanding grammar, or continuing at a higher level.

German

Our German course is for children aged 5 and older and adults. You can start with the basics or continue learning if you have studied the language before. In lessons, students work on grammar, expand their vocabulary, and practise communicating. The teacher helps explain difficult topics and chooses tasks that are useful for school, work, or everyday life.

Japanese

An interest in Japanese often begins with cartoons, anime, or an introduction to Japanese culture. In the course, students study pronunciation, writing, and grammar, gradually moving on to reading and conversation practice. The teacher explains new material step by step and helps students use it in dialogues. Lessons also explore communication conventions and language etiquette in Japan.

Modern Dance

Our modern dance course consists of private online lessons. Students warm up, learn movements, and practise dance combinations. The teacher demonstrates exercises and helps students adjust their technique. We also offer ballet and yoga lessons. Children and adults can choose a style and lesson format that suit their interests.

Math

Our math course consists of private online lessons with a teacher. Parents come to us to help their children better understand the school curriculum, improve their grades, or prepare for school-leaving or entrance exams. In Zoom or Google Meet lessons, the teacher explains challenging topics and works through problems with the student. Our online school also offers algebra, geometry, physics, and chemistry.

School Preparation

Our school preparation course is designed for children preparing to start primary school. Children learn to read, count, understand tasks, and complete them independently. The teacher takes into account what each child can already do and chooses exercises suited to their age and skills. Lessons gradually build skills children will need at school, while parents receive guidance for practice at home.

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy sessions are available for children and adults. Private sessions take place on Zoom or Google Meet. The specialist assesses the student’s speech, identifies goals, and selects exercises. When working with a child, the plan is discussed with the parents. After sessions, the speech therapist provides recommendations for independent practice at home.

Online lessons give children and adults time to pursue their interests and learn more. You can choose a creative course, study a language, or gain a better understanding of a school subject.

The Montessori Center arts school has been operating in Kyiv since 2011. Since 2020, we have offered online lessons for children and adults from different countries.
