Electric guitar and equipment: you will need an electric guitar, a pick, a guitar amplifier and a cable to connect your instrument. If you haven’t bought your equipment yet, we can help you choose.
A device with a camera and microphone: a laptop or tablet with internet access will work. Position the camera so your teacher can see both hands and your guitar.
Headphones: these will help you hear your teacher’s explanations and playing more clearly. At the start of the lesson, check that your teacher can hear both you and your guitar clearly.
Sheet music and tablature: we will send you the materials in advance. Before the lesson, print them out or open them on a screen where you can easily read them during the lesson.
Independent practice: between lessons, review the exercises and guitar parts you have worked on with your teacher.
Practice time: as a beginner, you can start with 20 minutes a day. Your teacher will suggest how to divide your time between exercises and working on pieces.
Working on challenging passages: practise them separately at a slow tempo, focusing on playing accurately. Once you have learnt the part, try playing it along with a backing track.

Course Overview
The online electric guitar course is designed for children aged 8 and over and adults. Students develop playing techniques, learn to read sheet music and tablature, and practise chords and solos. The repertoire includes pieces in various styles: rock, blues, jazz, metal and pop. The programme includes beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. The teacher selects material to suit each student’s experience and musical interests.
During lessons, you practise exercises and work on your chosen pieces. You study music theory through practical examples, exploring rhythm, chord progressions, scales and guitar parts. You also learn to use an amplifier and become familiar with guitar effects and pedals.
Lessons take place online with a teacher in real time. The teacher demonstrates playing techniques, listens to your performance and explains what needs practice. We agree on the schedule and language of instruction before lessons begin.
Students prepare for online concerts and competitions, where they can perform the pieces they have learnt. The school awards a certificate upon completion of each module and a diploma upon completion of each level.
Our Teaching Approach
At the beginning of the course, the teacher finds out what the student can already do and what music they want to play. They then select suitable pieces and exercises. Students learn guitar parts step by step: reading the notation or tablature, choosing fingerings, learning techniques and practising challenging passages at a slow tempo.
As students master the material, they connect the sections and learn to play the whole piece with a backing track. The teacher helps them focus on rhythm, note accuracy and expression. Students progress to the next level when they have mastered the programme, rather than according to a fixed timetable.
A piece the student has learnt can be prepared for an online concert or competition. During lessons, the teacher helps rehearse the performance. Afterwards, they discuss what went well and what still needs work.
Benefits of Our Teaching Approach
Clear tasks: the teacher explains what needs practice in the chosen piece and suggests ways to improve the performance.
Individual pace: students can spend as much time as they need learning a new technique or a challenging solo.
Theory in practice: students learn about notation, rhythm and harmony alongside the music they play.
Feedback: the teacher listens to the performance, identifies inaccuracies and demonstrates how to correct them.
For children and adults: exercises and repertoire are selected to suit each student’s age, experience and musical preferences.
No exams: students can share their progress through performances in online concerts and competitions.
Further study: after completing all modules, students can continue lessons with our teachers and work on professional-level repertoire.
Beginner Level
Age: 8 and over. The beginner level is suitable for students with no playing experience. The teacher demonstrates how to hold the electric guitar and pick, position the hands and connect the instrument to an amplifier. From the first lessons, students try playing simple melodies and chords and become familiar with notation, tablature and rhythmic patterns.
Exercises for hand coordination, chord changes and picking are gradually introduced. Students learn simple parts from their chosen pieces and work on playing evenly. By the end of the level, they can perform a simple guitar part with a backing track and prepare it for an online concert.
Intermediate Level
Age: 10 and over. The intermediate level is designed for students who have already mastered the basics. Pieces become more challenging, with a wider variety of rhythms and solos. Students develop finger dexterity, coordinate the movements of both hands and work on accuracy.
More attention is given to phrasing, dynamics and the characteristic techniques of different musical styles. Students learn to hear their part within the accompaniment, come in at the right moment and maintain the tempo. The teacher also introduces amplifier settings and effects used in the music being studied. Prepared pieces can be performed in an online concert or competition.
Advanced Level
Age: 12 and over. At the advanced level, students work on challenging pieces and solos, refine their technique and pay closer attention to performance details. They study the characteristics of different styles and make decisions about phrasing, dynamics and the use of effects.
The programme includes improvisation: students try creating their own musical phrases using familiar scales and chords, combining them into solos and playing them with accompaniment. The teacher helps them analyse successful ideas and identify what still needs refinement.
Students prepare a programme for an online concert or competition. After completing the level, they can continue lessons, learn professional-level repertoire and develop their improvisation skills.
Course Goals
Playing technique: develop proper hand position and picking technique, learn to play chords and solos, and work on precise movements and a clean sound.
Music notation and tablature: learn to read sheet music and guitar tabs, understand musical markings and work out guitar parts independently.
Music theory: become familiar with scales, keys and chord construction, and understand how they relate to the music you play.
Repertoire: learn pieces in different styles, explore their characteristic techniques and develop expressive playing.
Using equipment: learn to connect an electric guitar, adjust amplifier settings and use effects in the pieces you perform.
Improvisation: learn to create musical phrases and your own solos using familiar scales, rhythms and harmony.
Independent practice: learn to organise practice time at home, work through challenging passages and use your ear to check the accuracy of your playing.
Performance experience: prepare pieces for online concerts and competitions, learn to play with backing tracks and manage nerves when performing for an audience.
Benefits of Online Electric Guitar Lessons
Hand coordination: when playing, one hand presses the strings against the fretboard while the other produces the sound. Exercises and work on guitar parts help students gradually gain control over these movements and improve their technique.
Developing a musical ear: playing electric guitar and listening to music develop the ability to distinguish pitch, melody and harmony. Over time, students become better at noticing inaccuracies in their own playing and learn to correct them.
Sense of rhythm: practising with a metronome and playing with backing tracks help students maintain the tempo, come in accurately and follow the rhythmic pattern of their part.
Musical memory: when learning a piece, students memorise its melody, chord progression, rhythm and hand movements. Gradually, they can play familiar parts without sheet music or tabs.
Independence: practice at home teaches students to plan their time, identify challenging passages and work on them before their next lesson.
Exploring different music: students discover how guitar parts differ in rock, blues, funk and other styles, try different techniques and choose music they enjoy playing.
Creating music: learning about harmony and improvisation allows students to compose their own melodies and create accompaniments and solos.
Performance experience: preparing for an online concert helps students learn to play a whole piece for an audience and manage performance nerves.
Time for your favourite music: lessons give you the opportunity to learn parts you have always wanted to play. Gradually, you will build a repertoire to enjoy on your own, share with friends and perform in concerts.
How to Practise Between Lessons
Practise regularly: start with short daily sessions and follow your teacher’s recommendations.
Work on challenging passages separately: play them slowly and increase the tempo once you can play them without mistakes.
Record your playing: listening back helps you notice uneven rhythm, wrong notes and passages that need more practice.
During your first lesson, you will meet your teacher and discuss what music you want to play. If you already have experience, you can play a familiar part. If you are starting from scratch, the teacher will show you how to hold the instrument and pick, and you will begin learning your first melody.

Teacher demonstrations: your teacher plays individual passages so you can hear how they should sound and see the hand movements. When needed, they demonstrate the technique slowly.
Wrapping up: at the end of the lesson, you will discuss what you have accomplished, which exercises and passages to practise at home, and what material you need for the next lesson.
Your teacher will select sheet music, tablature and videos for practice at home and explain which exercises and passages to work on before your next lesson. If needed, they will suggest videos demonstrating playing techniques so you can practise them on your own.
Start with a piece you’ve always wanted to play on the electric guitar. Your teacher will choose a melody suited to your level, and you’ll learn it step by step — from the first notes to playing along with a backing track.
